For your skin type

Sensitive skin: A face mask that you should 100% avoid.

GLAMGLOW Face Masks

Sensitive skin is tricky. It can reject some of the skincare products – make your skin red or irritate it. If that happens to you – stop using that product, because it is not normal for your skin to react to any products negatively! Take care of your skin with caution.

My first tip: choose products that are fragrance, dye, sulfates and parabens free to reduce your chances of skin irritation.

GLAMGLOW masks are great for skin types that are not sensitive, like, normal or oily skin.

I was recommended the brand by someone I know and they said that these masks are amazing. So, I tested them out myself (I have a dry, sensitive skin type). The result was not pretty and that is why I want to share it with you, so that you can avoid having the same issue + I spoke with other people, who have the same skin type and they also found it irritating and unpleasant.

In fact, there was only one of 6 different GLAMGLOW masks that I tested and that was gentle to my skin – GLAMGLOW BUBBLESHEET Oxygenating Deep Cleanse Mask that I have reviewed on my blog before on https://gorgeousyouskincare.com/?p=179.

So, let’s get to it.

GLAMGLOW Masks

This brand specialises in face masks. They have a large range of face masks that are designed to solve different skin problems.

But let’s see how GLAMGLOW performs on a dry, sensitive skin. Today, I used the Clearing Treatment mask.

Step 1. The Mask Application

  • Make sure that your skin is clean by using a foaming face cleanser or micellar water.
  • Apply the mask with a small brush or your fingers.
  • Note: I applied only on a small area of my face, because of my bad experience with the mask, I was not prepared to apply it on my whole face.

The feeling? After application, it took around 3 seconds for me to realise that this mask, strongly, irritates my skin. It felt like it was burning my face. I was very tempted to wash it off immediately, but, for the sake of this test, I decided to keep it as long as it was required by the manufacturer.

Note: under any circumstances, if you feel that the product is irritating your skin, take it off immediately!

Step 2. Rinse off and see the results.

When rinsing off the mask and pressing on the area, I, already, could feel irritation.

After rinsing the mask off, I looked in the mirror and realised that I have a visible redness exactly in the area I applied the mask to.

It is, definitely, not normal. Skincare products should, hydrate, nourish, comfort and take care of your skin, not damage it.

After a similar experience with other masks that you can see in the pictures, I gave up on these masks completely (with the exception of BUBBLESHEET Oxygenating Deep Cleanse Mask).

I am never using them and have found better alternatives for my skin type, like, The Origins Mega Mushroom Relief and Resilience Soothing Mask. For this product you can check out my blog post on https://gorgeousyouskincare.com/?p=65.

My Conclusion?

Buy it?

Think about it?

Don’t buy it? If you have this particular skin type, avoid them! I would suggest that you use alternatives that are designed to be gentle to a sensitive skin. But, in my experience, people with other skin types have told me that they love these masks. So, if you have an oily skin type, you may have a great experience with GLAMGLOW.
